Real-life talk.

I am sitting in the computer lab. Wearing a glow-in-the-dark wristband that reads, “NO WOMAN LEFT BEHIND.” There is a Powerade bottle next to me full of vodka and orange soda. I have no idea how long I’ve been here but today I have managed to piss off a reptile owner because I out-smarted him in snake lingo, sneak into a surprise baby shower and eat too many cupcakes, fall off a giant, inflated giraffe, paint a frisbee, get drunk, see Michael Ian Black, break my phone so that it now resembles a crooked penis, write a poem, and tweak some HTML.

Not bad.

Little Images
…in my head:
The pizzeria on the corner -
four dark men.
Standing as if boys in a choir,
staggered on risers and flicking the hair out of their
prepubescent eyes.
I walk with my head up,
I sharpen my peripherals.
A quick glance to the left,
and there they are.
Four dark men,
teeth like aged bamboo,
smiling like Easter morning with their
hands coated in snowflour, dough -
twirling, twirling, twirling.
My feet meet the corner,
and I watch as the cars growl past.
